Our Car Boot Art Fair is back, up-close and personal - with many of Ireland's leading artists on hand for a chat, great value artworks for sale, even the chance to commission an on-the-spot 30 minute portrait.
Who is participating?
We look forward to welcoming back prominent members of the Royal Hibernian Academy such as Joe Dunne, Blaise Smith, Dorothy Smith and Una Sealy, who was recently appointed the first ever Professor of Art at the RCSI! Other academics joining us include Andrew Folan and Taffina Flood from NCAD.
Appropriate to the glorious backdrop of the West Wicklow mountains and Blessington Lakes, we welcome artists who revel in the Irish landscape such as Ann Quinn & Daniel Lipstein, Rachel Burke and Michael Wann. Artist Gabhann Dunne is inspired not just by the landscape but also by ancient folklore and tradition enmeshed with animal mythologies. Also finding inspiration in the animal world is renowned painter Bennie Reilly and her fantastic beasts. Another husband and wife team participating are Elaine Leader and Colin Martin.
The participants include illustrious abstract painters such as Eamon Colman, Thomas Brezing, Stephen Rinn and Helen Blake, who is currently showing in Sligo alongside another CBAF participant Susan Connolly. Printmakers Monika Crowley and Joanna Kidney will show selections of new work. Illustrator P J Lynch will also have some prints along with original drawings, oil paintings and signed books while Sean Molloy, Catherine Barron, John O’Reilly and Patrick Redmond will tempt us with specially produced and priced new works for the event.
Tickets €10. 11am to 4pm, Sun, Sept 19th. Children under 16 are free.
